When I found “Cami” at ACS she was almost completely bald, ears completely infected, and her nails looked like they had never been cut. She was actually crying huge tears. I sat with her for hours before I checked my Facebook and saw the rescue by chance. I contacted them through email and Tammie answered right away. They were on the way! A few weeks later I picked her up. She overcame her skin issues, double ear infections, tooth surgery (all covered by TXCR) and slowly but surely came out of her shell. She has an actual smile on her face daily and we adore it! She won our hearts and the hearts of her new brother and sisters. Every time we thought about taking her to an adoption event she’d hit a new milestone and prove she belonged here. Now named Bella Star she’s adjusted perfectly. She potty trained right away and helped her shy sister break out of her shell. She also loved cats so the transition was seamless. We’re over the moon with our little Star. We couldn’t imagine a life without her. She was definitely the missing piece in our home. Thank you, Texas Chihuahua Rescue, we can’t say enough good things about you all and the entire process. Our baby is now in her forever home.”

I’ve been following Texas Chihuahua Rescue for some time now on Facebook. I already am the proud parent of Chloe, my long haired chihuahua. I was looking to rescue another long haired chihuahua and come across Elvis on their website. He was a Hurricane Harvey surrender and I was drawn to him. I filled out an application immediately and spoke with Catherine very soon after. Elvis officially became part of our family and we love him. I feel awful that his previous owner had to give him up and would like her to have peace knowing we will love him for the rest of his life. Texas Chihuahua Rescue is a wonderful organization!”

Our adoption of Mickey could not have been more perfect. The application process was excellent. All the volunteers are lovely. The preparation was so exciting and adoption day was the best experience ever. Our description of Mickey said he was the happiest boy in the world. That was so true. Texas Chihuahua Rescue has been an absolutely amazing experience! I am so blessed every day that I got my little girl Sky! TXCR cares about all of their animals tremendously and does a long a thorough check to make sure the animals are paired with the right house. My little girl Sky is deaf so the process was a bit longer than usual which I appreciated a lot. It shows how much the organization truly cares for each pet. Sky had some anxiety before I got her but she is doing absolutely amazing at home with her pug brother Teddy! She is the happiest, most playful and beautiful little girl! Thank you so much TXCR!
